Resources

Interns are provided a number of resources to enhance their learning experiences.  Clinical rotations include professional readings, study guides and practice case studies that help prepare interns for their rotations.  Using these resources minimizes the amount of time interns and preceptors must spend reviewing remedial information, thus maximizing the amount of time the intern can spend in hands-on patient care activities including assessment, education and documentation. Interns may also use Carondelet’s medical library system, which includes free access to online databases, texts and librarians who can assist in literature searches.

Our goal is for our interns to be ready to start work as entry-level RDNs in the clinical setting upon graduation.  To that end, the four weeks of staff relief is scheduled at the end of the internship.  To assist interns in preparing for their first jobs as dietitians, they are provided information and resources on the RDN exam, resume evaluation, an opportunity to participate in mock job interviews, and referral to Morrison Healthcare’s RDN recruiters to explore job opportunities with the company.

More information about the program can be found in the intern handbook.
